Panama City may not be the best place to enjoy a white Christmas, but it’s the perfect place to enjoy the holiday season in a number of other ways. If the palm trees and warm weather aren’t enough to lure you in, Panama City is bustling with tons of exciting outdoor events this December. The following are some of our favorite events on schedule, but your best option is to come to Panama City and see some of the action for yourself.

11th Annual Festival of Trees

The 2014 Panama City Festival of Trees starts Tuesday, Dec. 2, and extends through Friday, Dec. 5. Tons of holiday events, like Santa’s Pinewood Derby Race, Mother’s Morning Out and other family-friendly festivities, fill the Festival of Trees with fun and excitement for all ages. Long onto the Festival of Trees website for a full schedule of events and ticket prices.

28th Annual Christmas Boat Parade of Lights

We celebrate the holidays a little bit differently here in Florida, and that’s one of the best parts of being here for the month of December. The 28th Annual Christmas Boat Parade of Lights starts at the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club and continues passed downtown to the St. Andrews Marina. Stop by either of the two marinas for food, drinks, live music, Christmas markets and Santa sightings. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m., but the events extend from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

7th Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop

There’s no better place to bring in the new year than at Pier Park in Panama City Beach. Tons of family-friendly festivities start at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, including a family beach ball drop at 8 p.m., fireworks and live music leading up to the big beach ball drop at midnight.
